LCB Acquisition FAQ
Does this affect my accounts/loans?
Accounts-Your account number for any checking, savings, money market, CD or loan will remain the same.
Loans-Your payment amount and due date will remain the same. If you pay by check, make your check payable to KFB and take it to your local office. You can mail your payment to: KFB, 4393 Highway 2565, Louisa, KY 41230. If your payment is made via automatic debit, the payment will continue to process on the originally scheduled date.
Who can I contact if I have more questions?
We will be posting updates and information on our website as well as other social media platforms. Up-to-date details can be found at www.kfb.bank.
You may contact our Louisa office during its normal business hours at (606) 638-0007 or a Customer Solutions Representative at (606) 929-5000. Hours of operations are Monday thru Thursday, 8:30am to 4:00pm, Friday 8:30am to 6:00pm, and Saturday 8:30am to 12:00pm.
How will the bank acquisition impact me as a customer?
We are actively in the transition process and will ensure a smooth changeover for all customers involved. You will receive a letter in the future that will provide you with information about your accounts. However, until the final conversion date, your accounts and loans will function as normal.
Will my routing number change?
Yes, but not right away. You will continue to use your current Louisa Community Bank routing number. Please watch for future correspondence which will provide more specific details regarding changing your routing number to KFB’s.
Will I get new checks? Can I use my old checks?
Yes, but not right away. Checks will be issued to the address the bank has on file on the final conversion date. The first box of checks will be mailed to you free of charge. In the mean time, if you need more checks, please speak with a Customer Service Representative so we can help you with your order.
Will I get a new debit card?
Yes, but not right away. You will continue to use your current Louisa Community Bank debit card. Please watch for future correspondence which will provide more specific details regarding the issuance of your new KFB debit card.
Will the Louisa office remain open? Will my banking hours change?
The Louisa office will continue to remain open for business as KFB. For your convenience, you will be able to visit KFB’s other locations in Ashland, Catlettsburg, and Summit, KY after the conversion is finalized. You will be notified in writing when this occurs.
Normal banking hours will remain in place. Any change in hours of operation will be communicated to you in writing.
Will there be any changes to the way you process my branch deposits?
No. Branch deposits will continue to be processed as usual.
How will I access online banking?
You will continue to access your current online banking at banklcb.com. After the final conversion date, you will be able to access your online banking through KFB at kfb.bank.
How will I access my telephone banking?
You can continue to call (606) 638-0041 to access your account information and make transfers. After the final conversion date you will be able to access your telephone banking through KFB at (606) 928-3532.
Will there be any changes to my Safe Deposit Box access?
You may continue to access your Safe Deposit Box during normal business hours. Any changes will be communicated by KFB in writing.
Will I need to update my direct deposits and automatic payments?
No. Your direct deposits and automatic payments will continue to post as they normally do.
Will my account type change?
Although your account type name may have changed, we have worked to ensure you are in the best account for your current banking needs. You will be receiving more information about any changes to your account by mail. If you have any further questions or would like to change your account type, please visit your local office or call (606) 929-5000.
Interest Rates-
Interest on deposits accrued through close of business on October 25th, 2019, will be paid at your same rate. The Louisa Community Bank’s rates may be lowered to KFB's current rates. You will be notified in writing of any changes. You may withdraw funds from any transferred account that is not on hold, regardless of whether your interest rate changes, without an early withdrawal penalty until you enter into a new deposit agreement with KFB.
Please note: If you withdraw funds from retirement accounts, there may be tax implications to consider. The waiver of early withdrawal penalties on CDs does not include tax penalties imposed by the IRS on retirement accounts. Please review IRS Publication 590-A and 590-B for information or go to www.irs.gov.
Will my CD renew at maturity?
Yes. Your CD will renew at the rate offered at KFB for the term of your original CD.
Will my deposits still be insured by the FDIC?
Yes, insurance coverage will not change. The FDIC will continue to provide deposit insurance up to $250,000.00 for each of your account ownership categories.
What happens to my FDIC insurance coverage if I have deposits at Louisa Community Bank and KFB?
If you have accounts in both the acquired bank and KFB, they will be insured separately for at least six months following the acquisition date. This will allow you time to restructure your accounts if necessary.
Where can I use an ATM?
You may still use the ATM located at the Louisa Office. KFB also has ATMs located at the Ashland, Catlettsburg, and Summit locations. Once you are issued a KFB debit card, you will have access to over 32,000 surcharge free ATMs through the MoneyPass Network.
Should I expect someone to call or email me to verify my deposit account information?
KFB will NEVER call or email our customers asking them to validate their deposits or to request personal, confidential information, such as account numbers, social security numbers, or driver’s license numbers. If you receive calls or emails asking for this type of personal information, consider them fraudulent and do not respond.
If you call us, we will ask you for information to verify your identity.
